Troyes Songis Urban Park
On the former parade ground of an old barracks, the garden forms an attractively proportioned open space at the heart of the new residential neighbourhood of Songis. It offers an interpretation of the theme of the countryside in the city through the framing of a “meadow”, punctuated by clumps of Zelkova and cherry trees along the path that crosses it. The central space takes form through the volume of the trees and the design of the elements that border it. On two sides, two wooded areas structure the space, and through a rhythmic play of vertical and horizontal elements host more secluded spaces.
