Val-de-Marne Landscapes of Val-De-Marne
Belonging to the immediate suburbs of Paris and strongly marked by its geomorphology, the département’s land area offers a diversity and contrast between very urban landscapes and the natural spaces that are still preserved. The aim of this study is to describe them and understand them in order to define a number of actions such as the protection and enhancement of the river banks, making the most of the natural and agricultural landscapes (in particular, the management of the peri-urban countryside), that of the urban landscapes (those inherited from the 19th century as well as more recent ones), management of the interface between urbanisation and natural landscapes, and reabsorbing areas that had been cut off.
